Discovering and starting a chat
The Discover feed presents character cards with an avatar, name, and short description, filterable by gender and by whether NSFW-flagged characters are included in results, and can be further filtered by category, popularity, and content rating. Character profiles include a name, age, photo, an introduction, a greeting line, personality and appearance text, a scenario description, tags, a visibility setting, and example dialogue: the fields a creator fills in when building a character, and the material the model draws on once a chat starts.
Core experience and group chat
Users can chat one-on-one with a character or use group chat, where multiple characters participate in the same conversation and the user can take part or simply observe the characters interacting with each other.
In-chat message controls
Beyond sending messages, the chat interface exposes per-message controls: a Regenerate button re-runs the AI's last reply if a user isn't satisfied with it, an Edit Message function lets a user directly rewrite what the AI said (accessed by clicking the message on desktop web, right-clicking on PC, or long-pressing on mobile/app), and a Trace Back control lets a user jump the conversation back to an earlier point rather than only editing the most recent turn.
Customization, voice, and memory tiers
Beyond character definition, paid tiers add custom voice slots (a set number of distinct AI voices a user can assign to their characters) with the number of available slots increasing at each higher tier. CrushOn.AI publishes its memory capacity directly as part of its plan comparison: the free tier is listed with roughly 8K tokens of memory, with paid tiers stepping up through roughly 16K and 24K token memory models, plus a larger number of retained historical messages per character at higher tiers. Maximum AI reply length is also plan-gated, and top tiers allow the user to adjust it directly.
Image generation
CrushOn.AI's in-chat image generation feature lets users change a character's outfit, generate new scenes (for example a school, office, or forest setting), and adjust pose, with generation drawing on the ongoing chat so the output stays consistent with the character's established appearance and the current scene.
Target Play
Target Play layers structure onto a character conversation: a character can be set up with defined objectives, a scoring system, and a visible progress bar, turning what would otherwise be open-ended roleplay into a session with trackable goals and milestones. It's an optional mode rather than the platform's default chat experience.
Content policy and adult-content positioning
CrushOn.AI's content guidelines treat sexual roleplay in text as a normal part of the product but apply a noticeably stricter standard to imagery than to conversation. Its community guidelines describe implied sexual activity as permitted "when contextually appropriate," while explicit sexual imagery, nudity, and depictions of explicit sexual activity in generated or uploaded images are restricted, along with a flat ban on realistic images resembling real people. Characters that are minors, whose age is left undefined, or that are "aged-up" versions of characters originally depicted as minors are prohibited outright, as is non-consensual intimate imagery and a set of extreme content categories. In day-to-day use, this produces two different content ceilings inside the same product: one for what a character can say, and a lower one for what an image can show.
CrushOn.AI's own terms of service also contain a broad, general clause stating users will not post NSFW or sexually explicit material: a standard legal disclaimer that sits alongside the platform's community guidelines and image rules described above; read the guidelines rather than the boilerplate clause for the platform's actual working content policy.
Access model, account access, and pricing
CrushOn.AI uses a free tier plus several paid tiers, each defined by a monthly message-credit allotment, a memory-model tier, a maximum reply length, a number of custom voice slots, and (at higher tiers) group chat access with its own dedicated memory model. Bonus credit rates on top-up purchases also improve at higher subscription tiers. Signup supports either direct email registration or one-click sign-in through a Google account, and the service is used through a browser on both desktop and mobile.
Privacy and data considerations
CrushOn.AI's privacy policy lists a broad set of collected data categories, including identity and contact details, payment information, device/network data, avatar and voice recordings, and chat content, and states that user content may be used to train AI models. The policy states a minimum age of 18 but, like most platforms in this space, does not describe an active identity-verification step at signup. Independent privacy reviews have separately flagged the breadth of sensitive data categories referenced in the policy, including health-related data fields, as unusually extensive for a chat app.
Limitations
CrushOn.AI does not publish a full public API or developer documentation for third-party integration in the way some model-hosting platforms do: the chat, image generation, and Target Play features are used through the hosted site and app rather than through an external interface.
Important distinctions
CrushOn.AI's credit-and-tier system, built-in group chat, and in-chat image generation distinguish it from SpicyChat, which centers more on model choice and lorebook-driven solo roleplay. Its split content standard (permissive on explicit text, stricter on explicit imagery) is also a meaningful difference from platforms that apply the same standard to both.
