Infrastructure role

Vast.ai connects users who need compute with providers offering GPUs. The rented instance supplies an isolated container and hardware, while the user selects a template, model, interface, storage, and network configuration. This is a hosted generation environment even when it runs the same open-weight stack used on a local workstation. Vast.ai is therefore documented as infrastructure underneath adult-AI workflows, not as an adult generator or companion service in its own right.

Stable Diffusion, ComfyUI, and LLM workflows

The official Stable Diffusion guide launches an AUTOMATIC1111 template and explains how to upload other model checkpoints. An official ComfyUI guide describes node-based text-to-image, image-to-image, inpainting, and outpainting workflows on rented compute. Vast.ai also documents Serverless vLLM and an OpenAI-compatible endpoint proxy, placing it in both diffusion and LLM inference stacks. Availability of a container or checkpoint does not mean Vast.ai authored, reviewed, or licensed the model.

Marketplace hardware and security

Marketplace offers vary in GPU model, VRAM, price, reliability, bandwidth, storage, and provider type. Vast.ai's FAQ says client workloads are isolated in unprivileged containers, but also distinguishes professionally managed environments from smaller community providers and advises more selective provider choice when data security matters. That is a material limitation for private model weights, character datasets, or intimate uploads. Container isolation reduces cross-tenant access; it is not the same as physical control of a local machine.

Limits, policy, and lifecycle

Vast.ai is not characterized as an adult platform, and this profile does not infer an adult-content allowance from its ability to run Stable Diffusion. Users must comply with current terms, model licenses, consent requirements, and applicable rules. Instance data can also be lost when storage or an instance is destroyed, while exposed ports, weak credentials, notebook tokens, logs, or shared templates can leak sensitive inputs. Before moving a local workflow to rented compute, identify which files persist, who supplies the machine, how access is authenticated, and how deletion will be verified.

Technical context

Vast.ai hosts user-selected GPU images for Stable Diffusion, ComfyUI and LLM serving; the dossiers explain stacks deployed on that general infrastructure.
